Teji Bachchan Passes Away

Bollywood's greatest superstar lost his mother.

Teji Bachchan, wife of poet the late Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother of Bollywood super actor Amitabh Bachchan, passed away at 1.05 pm on Friday at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra.

Dr Narendra Trivedi, spokesperson and vice-president of the hospital said: "It was a peaceful and natural death."

The Bachchan family, including Amitabh, his brother Ajitabh and son Abhishek reached the hospital early in the morning followed by family friends Anil Ambani and Subrata Roy. The family canceled all engagements scheduled for the week.

The cremation was held at Juhu at 10 o'clock. A host of celebrities attended the funeral.
